ESTANCIA LA PORTEÑA
A traditional ranch in the Pampas

"To some ten blocks of the central plaza, the old bridge, spreads its arch on the river uniting the fifth al tranquil field".Thus it gives beginning Ricardo Güiraldes to its novel "Don Segundo Sombra".In a room on the upper level of this homestead of "La Poteña", Ricardo wrote during the last years of his short life, setting them in the countryside of Areco, in the “Pulpería La Blanqueada” general store, and among the characters of those old estates.

Thus, associates inevitably the estancia "La Poteña" with the memory of the writer of gaucho literature Ricardo Güiraldes.

The first constructions on the homestead were located already in the present location and the general physiognomy was defined for 1860, with some laid in mud.

Today, the descendants of that family, "The Güiraldes" offer to whom they seek the tranquility and the comfort of the field of the pampas, the opportunity of the stopover or of a day of field in the estancia.

LOCATION

The estancia “La Porteña” is located in the party of San Antonio de Areco, in the Buenos Aires Province, Republic Argentina.Some kilometers of the crossing of the National Route 8 and the Provincial Route 41.

How arrive from Buenos Aires city.
By Panamericana freeway, North access, branch Pilar and then by the National Route N°8 to the Km. 108,5 where it is the access al road that conducts to estancia "La Porteña".

BASIC PROGRAM BUENOS AIRES

DAY 1 - Arrival to Ezeiza Int. Airport and transfer to hotel. 03 nts of accommodation with breakfast

DAY 2 - Traditional City Tour, visiting the best of Buenos Aires: La Boca, San Telmo, 9 de Julio Avenue and the Obelisk, Colon Theatre, The Congress, The Governor House called "Casa Rosada", Puerto Madero, La Recoleta...

DAY 3 - Excursion to a traditional "Estancia" or farm in the Pampas. Meals and Activities included. This excursion is usually called "Fiesta Gaucha"

DAY 4 - Transfer to airport
