LOCATION
Torres del Paine National Park, (which was declared Biosphere Reserve in 1978 by UNESCO), is located within the Chilean Patagonia 113 km to the north of Puerto Natales. The park consists of 242.000 hectares (the size of Luxemburg). It is world wide known as one of the most beautiful and unique places of the planet, due to its spectacular snowcapped mountains, its great lakes, flora, fauna, its millenarian glaciers that together make this area an ideal place for ecotourism and adventure sports lovers. The Paine Massif is another breathtaking scenery. It is formed mostly by granite and its origin dates from 12 millions years ago. Besides the Paine Massif we can also find other impressive mountain peaks such as Cerro Paine Grande, Los Cuernos, Torres del Paine, Fortaleza and Escudo among others.
