Privacy, warmth, tradition, nature, peace, adventure and fun live together in harmony in the 3.000 hectares of Rancho e Cuero. This ranch, belonging to the Palma family since more than 200 years ago, is opened today to the most demanding tourists. They are served in a personalized way by its owners, bilingual hosts who share with their guests, moments of their stay. The magic of the place moved the owners to build a comfortable lodge, where the art of hospitality is honored in broad heart of the Andes in Mendoza. To the hotel and gastronomy excellence, we can add the country and outdoors activities such as horse riding, trekking, fishing and drives in four wheel drive vehicles. For
the richness of its flora and fauna, Rancho e Cuero is taken care
as a natural reserve. Guanaco troops, the majestic vulture
and the slippery trout, among other things, are the only permanent inhabitants
of the Andes ranch. When
you take 86 Road, as a backstage postcard, El Plata mountain, pre announces
the beauties which wait for us upwards. Only sky, vineyard and mountain
accompany the traveler in this part of the tour. Curves and counter curves
follow in a rural zone contrasting with the Tupungato Valley, surrounded
by poplar trees with the frame of the volcano (6,800 m. above sea level)
which bears the same name. RANCHO
`E CUERO: THE RANCH A large living room with fireplace, a dining room for ten guests and the kitchen communicated with the main room, three bedrooms two suite ones- warmly kept and with huge windows towards the mountains, are complemented with a natural terrace pointing to the stream with transparent water, which rises in the property. Built
with material of the zone which gives warmth to the luminous rooms, the
lodge Ranchoe Cuero is outstanding for a rustic style, typical of
a mountain habitat, where the details of good taste prevail. Solid furniture
made of good wood, carpets, blankets and curtains, and a decoration where
the Argentine tradition is present: colored ponchos, swathing bands knitted
with a weaving loom, crafts braided in leather, spurs and whips, give
a personal seal to this friends place. REGIONAL
AND INTERNATIONAL COOKING Pinto Mine (2,700 m. above sea level). Ancient Indian exploitation located on the slope of a mountain, from where we can appreciate incredible views of the range. In its surroundings we can observe vestiges of indigenous constructions and catch sight of the autochthonous flora and fauna, being able to distinguish vultures and "guanaco" troops. Ranchoe Cuero (3,222 m. above sea level). Gigantic rock which gives the name to the ranch. It has a protruding shape which allows to shelter oneself in case of rain. Along the tour we can see unique views of Nivero del Plata glacier. One interesting option is the photographic safari, for the presence of numerous llama (guanaco) troops at a very short distance. Red
Ravine (3,200 m. above sea level). Nivero
del Plata (4,329 m. above sea level). CLIMATE AND CLOTHING In the ranch, we enjoy the typical mountain climate: pure and fresh air, with a little additional humidity characteristic of the zone. The big temperature amplitude between day and night, makes us take warm clothes not only in winter but in summer as well. There
are clothes and elements that cannot miss in the luggage of our guests. Average
temperature: Winter: 8º........Summer: 25º
