ADVENTURE TOURISM
The province offers many alternatives to be enjoyed by the active tourism.

ABORIGENE COMUNITIES
They are situated in the North of the province and they belong to the Chiriguanos, Chané, Churupíes, Tobas and Wichí missions. All these tribes preserve their customs and traditions; keeping this way, the cultural identity that characterizes each one of them.

TOURISM IN FARMS AND AGRO-TOURISM
In the Calchaquíes Valleys and in the Lerma Valley are magnificent ranches and farms, where the tourist has the possibility of both: being in contact with nature and enjoying himself with a quite rest; he also has the opportunity of taking part in some of activities that are done in this ranches and farms; like elaboration of cheese, wine and harvest of different products.

NATURAL RESERVES
Salta has three Provincial Natural Reservations: "Los Palmares", "Los Andes" and "Acambuco". Each one of them offers different varieties of animals and vegetation, characteristic to the region where they belong. In this places, the tourist can practice trekking, camping, photographic safaris, bird watching, house riding, etc., all these activities are done under the responsibility of an adventure tourist guide or ranger.

SCIENTIFIC EXCURSIONS
The provincial territory has a wide variety of suitable places to make scientific studies, among them, it is necessary to point out the rupestrian paintings of "Las Juntas" caves, in Guachipas: here it can be appreciated many pictographies of the Pre-Columbian periods, that reflect the complex rituals of the later "Santamariana Culture". There are also excursions of paleontological character, that allow the visitors to recognize and appreciate the footprints of dinosaurs that lived there approximately sixty five millions of years ago, in the Tonco valley. These footprints are unique in the world, because of their vertical position.

DAY 3 - Excursion to visit Humahuaca Canyon (Unesco World Heritage)
